How to install your Tuulikki theme
Method 1 – WordPress Dashboard
The easiest and most common way to install a WordPress Theme is through your WordPress Dashboard. Just follow these simple steps:
- After purchasing Tuulikki, you will be able to download the zipped theme folder.
- Unzip this first folder.
- Within the unzipped theme package, together with the other folders (Demo Import Files, Guides, etc), locate a zipped file called “Tuulikki-v500.zip” (The number 500 indicates the current version number, so it may differ when you download your file). This file is the main theme and it should not be unzipped.
- Within your WordPress Dashboard, navigate to Appearance > Themes.
- Click the “Add New” button at the top-left of the page.
- Click the “Upload Theme” button at the top.
- Click “Choose File” > locate your zipped “Tuulikki-v500.zip” file.
- Click the “Install Now” button.
Please be careful about this common mistake. If you try installing the entire zipped theme package or another incorrect file, you’ll probably receive an error message like this: “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet. Theme install failed.”
If this is your case, please be sure that you’re installing the ZIPPED file titled “Tuulikki-v500.zip” and NOT the whole theme zipped folder.
- After installing, you can “Activate” it via the installation page or via Appearance > Themes by clicking on the “Activate button”.
- Congratulations! Your Tuulikki is installed!

Method 2 – Via FTP
It is possible to use an alternative way to install Tuulikki Theme on your website which is slightly more advanced and can help you when for example you can’t access your WP Dashboard. Just follow these steps:
- Download and install a common FTP Client software (like FileZilla or Cyberduck)
- Open the selected software and log in with the FTP access keys provided by your Hosting. (If you don’t know how to get this, read this article from FAQ section)
- Download the zipped theme folder.
- Unzip this first folder.
- Within the unzipped theme package, together with the other folders (Demo Import Files, Guides, etc), locate a zipped file called “Tuulikki-v500.zip” (The number 500 indicates the current version number, so it may differ when you download your file) and unzip it.
- Upload the unzipped folder in “Wp-content > Themes”
- Activate the theme from your WordPress Control Panel by going to Appearance > Themes and pressing on the “Activate” button.
